Unfortunately, we cannot open a GIG-A or bank account for everyone immediately.
Some of these reasons are things we are working on changing so we recommend staying on our waitlist and we will update you once you are eligible.
Common reasons for your application to be denied can be:
Your ID verification was unsuccessful.
There may be a typo in the info you manually entered.
Your appearance has changed a lot and your selfie does not match your document.
Your visa type is unsupported, for now.
Your visa expires within 6 months.
You do not have a regular job and have lived in Japan for less than 1 year e.g. spouse or student.
You are under 18 years old.
You are a PEP.
You are limited by sanctions.
You do not reside in Japan.
You are a U.S. taxpayer.
You did not pass our enhanced security screening.
Any other regulatory requirements or business decisions that prevent us from proceeding with account opening.
There are a few regulatory and security requirements, which mean you will not be able to use our app in the future either. For other situations that have to deal with tax agreements, your age or political agreements - things change with time so we will let you know as soon as we can accept you as a customer.
